| All 3 of us "Hangin' Loose" ... literally! |
Aloha everyone. My name is Paul "Pu'ukani" Sebala, co-host
of The Little Grass Shack radio show. My start in radio came back in 1993 when I had the opportunity to host a Hawaiian music
show called "2 Scoops Of Aloha" on KTUH 90.3FM Hawaii. The show ran from 12AM - 3AM early Saturday
morning, where every wanna-be jock started. Within 2 weeks I was fortunate to switch to 6AM - 9AM Friday morning.
I soon
managed an internship with KCCN-FM 100 along with a weekend overnight shift. I finally settled in on Sunday mornings
from 6AM - 10AM until my ohana and I decided to move to Las Vegas in Dec. 2002. Before moving I found out through relatives that there was a Hawaiian radio show on KUNV-FM from 5AM - 9AM called the Little Grass Shack. When first hearing the show I immediately
was impressed with the variety in Hawaiian music that was presented. The musical taste spanned from "Toddler to
Tutu" as I like to say. The more I listened, that's if I got up in time, the more I missed working
within the Hawaiian music realms. This prompted me to make a big decision. On July 7th, 2004 I launched a 24-Hour Hawaiian Music Internet Station called Pipeline 2 Paradise Radio. The variety in my playlist was partly inspired by the musical presentation of
the LGS. I still currently own and operate the station. Over a year had passed and throughout time I
called in to the LGS a few times requesting songs and just affirming their works. To make a long story short, our passion
to spread the music brought Host Emory and I together. We got to sit down over what else "FOOD" and fed
off of each other's enthusiasm. Emory invited me to help host the show whenever his work or personal schedule called
him elsewhere. Without hesitation I accepted and I must say that not a day goes by that I don't feel honored
to be a part of something so "pono" or righteous. Over the past 2 years the Little Grass Shack show went from 6AM -9AM, to 8AM - 11AM, 10AM
- 2PM, 11AM - 2PM, and now 10AM - 1PM on Saturday. I see this chance to co-host Las Vegas' only Hawaiian radio show on the FM-dial
as a great privilege. I hope for those who tune in weekly you experience the same aloha I felt since day 1 when I stepped
into the Shack.
